Cato Gisera was a Nautolan Jedi Master during the failing days of the Old Republic. He was a major general in the Clone War and fought in such engagements as Ragdon, Serenno, and Telmaros. He was slain on Naboo by his own Clone Troopers, one of many Jedi to fall during Order 66.

Clone War

Battle of Telmaros

It was Cato and Maran who ultimately tracked Major Blood to the Fist of Justice headquarters on Telmaros. They engaged in the early fleet battles there and later pursed the Fist of Justice fleet while other Jedi generals besieged the ground base.

Naboo

Cato, alongside Maran, later tracked Fist of Justice ships to Naboo and uncovered a base there led by Dark Jedi Rendo Nakim. That base soon fell to the 723rd and Cato engaged Rendo in a duel, but was unable to prevent him from escaping.

With the battle won, Cato intended on remaining on Naboo to bring the Dark Jedi to justice while Maran led the 723rd on other fronts, but with the recent death of Count Dooku and nearing end of the Outer Rim sieges, the legion had no new assignment.

Death

A few days after the end of the battle, Cato was ambushed and killed by his clone troopers in accordance with the new Emperor Palpatine's Order 66/.

Personality and Traits

Cato Gisera was a tenacious and relentless Jedi. Though opinionated, he was highly effective in battle and a good leader.

Though he initially chose the path of a Consular and studied the Force, when the war came, he became more of a Guardian, hard in battle and focused on swordsmanship and battle prowess above all else. Some, his former apprentice Maran Teesa included, believed he had been hardened and corrupted by the war, no longer sticking to Jedi ideals so much as intent on victory.

Powers and Abilities

Gisera, as a young Jedi, became powerful in the Force, upholding the practices of a Consular. Later, though, he focused more on swordsmanship, fully mastering Shien and Djem So. He often wielded a shoto in addition to his full-length saber. His abilities with a lightsaber were great enough that he could briefly hold his own against General Grievous in a battlefield setting. He also went up against former Battlemaster Sora Bulq, albeit with the aid of Masters Plo Koon and Kyidyin Muchian, and Dark Jedi Nioman Dakara.
